Termites
Termites (white ants) can travel hundreds of meters from their nest. The average Termite nest contains between 2 to 3 million Termites. Termites are not ants, white ants is just their nick name. Their closest living realative is a cockroach. Termites travel under ground undetected. Moisture attracts Termites, look around your home for any thing that causes moisture, leaking showers, driping taps, hot water over flows & air conditioner drains, leaking & blocked gutters, broken storm waters. Fix them this will lower the risk of Termite attack. Keep gardens & trees away from your house. one in four homes are attacked by Termites, causing more damage than any natural disaster.

Mosquitos

Mosquitoes are nasty disease carrying pests, they use our blood to nourish their eggs. The female is the only one that bites. Their are many species of mosquito in Australia spreading diseases such as Dengie fever, Ross river fever etc. Mosquitoes can produce thousands of offspring in their life cycle. Avoid having any stagnet water around your house, pot plants, tyres, ponds etc. Mosquitoes generally stay close to where their eggs are.

Midges/Sandflies

Nasty & painfull pests, unlike mosquitoes they do not spread diseases. They also stay close to where they lay their eggs. Like mosquitoes the female is the one that bites, she uses our blood to nourish her eggs. They do not need stagnet water, just wet sand, grass mulch, leaf litter. Midges/Sandflies are also harder to get rid of then mosquitoes.
